Neurodiversity

No two minds are exactly the same.

Every individual has a unique way of thinking, feeling and experiencing the world. This beautiful mosaic of minds is known as neurodiversity. Neurodiversity is a non-medical term that describes people whose brains develop or work differently for some reason. Embraced by a growing number of educators, therapists and communities worldwide, the concept of neurodiversity invites us to view neurological differences not as disorders, but as variations on the vast spectrum of human cognition.

Not something to fix. Something to celebrate.

The human brain exhibits a wealth of variations in its structure and function. While some brains might be diagnosed with for example autism, ADHD or dyslexia, these are not indications that something is “broken” or “wrong”. Instead, they are manifestations of the vast diversity in neurocognitive functioning. Considering all unique and beautiful minds that have received these diagnoses or consider themselves neurodivergents, a redefinition is very much in order.

Tapping true potential.

The fact that unemployment rates for some neurodivergent groups is over 80 percent is not fair. Not cool. Not good for anyone. The untapped potential here is mindblowing. We promise to lead by example, each and every day. By understanding and appreciating neurodiversity, we pave the way for more inclusive communities, schools and workplaces. Through education and empathy, we can foster environments where everyone feels valued, understood and empowered. Imagine.
